When it comes to does skin firming lotion work we are all probably guilty of wanting to believe the TV adverts heavily promoting creams and lotions supposed to tighten and firm up our skin.
Because we are so busy these days — most of us don’t have the time or inclination to put any effort into doing any research or evaluation of anti-aging firming creams. Therefore we tend to believe the gorgeous young wrinkle free dolly on TV who is telling us how we can look just as good as she does, if we dab on a little of their wrinkle and tightening cream.
Unfortunately after you use the cream you have so cleverly been influenced to by the fiction depicted on the TV ad — is when you realize you have yet again bought another dud anti-aging cream that is ineffective.
Lets assume for a moment you are one of the smart ones who doesn’t products from TV ads. So how are you supposed to know which firming lotion works. Well you don’t! — but if you truly understand what is needed to tighten facial and body skin, you will have more chance of finding a lotion that will be effective.
So what really needs to happen to tighten tissues?
First you need to understand you have 3 layers of skin — epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous (hypodermis) which each have separate functions.
The epidermis is covered with layers of dead keratin cells a tough horny protein, which is also the main substance, found in your hair and nails. They will be shed and be replaced by new ones from the base of the epidermis. They offer protection to your horney layer and help to keep moisture in to hydrate your outer tissue layer.
The dermis contains most of your skins living structures including sweat glands that cool, sebaceous glands that produce oil, nerve endings and collagen structural and elastin elastic fibers, and is the most important layer as far as the structure, strength and elasticity of your skin goes.
This is where your body has always produced collagen and elastin protein cells. As you reach middle age you need to produce more of them because your system can’t make as many anymore, that’s why there are special protein stimulating substances now available in anti-aging creams that will help your body re-grow more of them.
The subcutaneous (hypodermis) is rich in fat and blood cells; hair follicles are situated in this and your dermis layer.
Does skin firming lotion work is pretty much dependent on whether the substances you are going to apply topically have ingredients in them that can stimulate your own system to produce new collagen and elastin proteins in your dermis structural layer.
